Amy Fotheringham and Duff Rich were born months apart from one another in 1970. While the two infants wouldn't meet for a couple more decades, they felt in their souls they were destined to establish the greatest film production company of the 21st-century.

After meeting in college, Amy F soon became Amy R, and the two used their expensive educations to become long-haul truckers. After a few years of moving furniture and peeing in Big-Gulps, Amy took a temp job in the Mom industry and tried to make something of her three kids. And she hasn't given up yet!
Duff was able to use his trucking experience to find work driving grip trucks, finally landing a spot in the film industry.

Duff learned the ropes of the industry by working a decade in the grip/electric department. During this time he helped light commercials, movies, still advertisements, events, and international spotlights. He eventually consistently started gaffing, which he got to do for Napoleon Dynamite in 2004!

Duff decided to jump straight into producing on the set of Gentlemen Broncos in 2008. He learned on the job and the experience served as his first delve into budget creation and management. During this era he produced 127 Hours, an Oscar-nominee filmed in Southern Utah, and Don Verdean, another Rockwell/Hess/Clement classic.

Nobody survived Covid-19.
But we did and in the ashes of society, Zip Films grew twice as big. Amy, unable to continue her political advocacy, joined Duff as the second pillar of Zip Films, thus completing the prophecy.
Amy became a trained Covid-Compliance Safety Officer, allowing us to work when many other production companies were shut down.
Coincidentally, Ivy and Pete, two of those kids Amy raised, graduated at the exact start of Covid and used their free time and nepotism to join in on the fun!

Before 2020, Duff produced a handful of commercials but he mostly organized feature films. However, one of the consequences of the pandemic was a rapid influx of commercial film work into our area.
The Zip Team became hyper-specialized at collaborating with creative teams to organize and manage short advertisement campaigns over shoots typically lasting between 1 and 5 days.
During the Commercial Arc, Zip has produced more than ______ commercials and our work has contributed to multiple award-winning advertisements.

There are lots of pessimistic predictions about the film industry right now. But at Zip Films, we believe we're entering our most powerful phase yet.
Look through our catalogue and you'll see consistently well-made productions.
For as long as creative people continue to reach out we will continue to organize crews and produce quality, human-made art.
So let's work together and make something special!
Through Zip's many evolutions, we have organized a small but strong community of local film workers. We take care of our people because they make great work.
We welcome all to our sets except for those who don't return the welcome. Harassment will result in removal.
AI is quickly being integrated into every aspect of life. However, we pledge to prioritize human work and are frankly uninterested in using generative art.
